The BMG Strategic Marketing Group needed a change for their main front-line marketing website, Click2music.com. Visitors were not staying on the site long enough, and the return site visits were also falling. The decision was made not only to redesign the site, leaving the grey-blue and brick red color scheme which did not convey an edgy, contemporary music feel, but also to add new functionality and features that would entice music fans to visit, re-visit and stay at the site longer. The final piece to this puzzle was that the site needed to be fully integrated into BMG's in-house content management system, which would allow marketing staff to make site updates more often with help from the technical staff. All of these changes needed to be completed and tested within a 6-week timeframe, to coincide with a co-branded marketing campaign.

The BMG Strategic Marketing Group contracted arvato systems Business Solutions group for this extensive redesign and functionality revamp effort because of its wide range of design capabilities, its solid technical development background, its deep understanding of the music business and the proximity to the BMG staff. Immediately, the design team began work on mulitple sets of design concepts and mockups with ideas and colors that better suited the needs of a hip, contemporary music site. At the same time, the functional team started coordinating with BMG's IT staff to understand the architecture and requirements of its content management system, in order to best fit the needs of the Marketing staff into the context of the CMS. Throughout the project, the design and functional teams worked closely together with the BMG Marketing and ITstaff, iteratively honing design concepts and refining functional specifications until the optimal combination of form and function was achieved.
Click2Music.com is now one of the premiere online destinations for streaming media, contests, downloads and news about all of BMG's superstar artists. The new color scheme, using bright oranges, yellows and reds, definitely conveys the lively music and entertainment feel the BMG Marketing staff was looking for, and the new sections like Click2Know (news), Cool Stuff (downloads), polls and ratings complemented the already popular contests and streaming audio. Finally, the addition of the dynamic Flash Radio and greater selection of streaming audio and video in all popular formats allowed the music fans to visit the site and stay awhile to check out all the latest tracks from their favorite artists. arvato systems Business Solutions, working closely with BMG, made this happen, on time and on budget.
