Bertelsmann mediaSystems now arvato systems


September 2002 – As of 1 September Bertelsmann mediaSystems will be doing business under the new name of arvato systems. This name change is part of a comprehensive branding process which arvato AG (headquartered in Gütersloh), the media services provider of Bertelsmann AG successfully completed.

A new name, a new logo, a new claim and a new pictorial trademark – these are the primary elements of arvato systems' brand new image as of September 1. "With our new corporate design, we are fully integrated in the overall campaign of our parent company arvato AG and are thus a symbolic link in a powerful, innovative team of more than 28,000 staff members in 26 countries", says Michael Pesch, CEO of arvato systems. "The new CD is timeless, yet contemporary. It is internationally applicable and underlines the strong integrative network of the arvato companies worldwide. The new claim 'arvato – the spirit of solutions` also reflects our compre-hensive service philosophy.“

The starting point and cornerstone of the re-branding of arvato systems is a logo in the pantone colours blue and gray. Like concentric circles resulting from a drop of water falling into a pond or the annular rings of an ancient tree, the symbol consists of a series of irregularly shaped circles one inside the other. Through the power and tension prevailing amongst the circles, they appear to influence and reinforce each other mutually and finally to expand themselves outwards. Thus the logo demonstrates creative interaction and organic growth, and provides a dynamic and emotional expression of the arvato systems brand.
